Greetings Fellow Legionnaires
I thank you all for another year of your service and support of the American Legion. The 2 most satisfying
ceremonies I attended in the last year was the Lincoln Public Schools 25 Year Service Awards and the
Chancellor's Review of the UNL ROTC program. Post 3 showed its appreciation to teachers in our community
by recognizing the long term commitments to education. At the Review, Post 3 gave a token cash gift and
medal to each cadet and midshipman showing high level of achievement.
I hope you had time to pay your respects to those on Memorial Day. Post 3 will have the honor of being
involved in ceremonies at both Wyuka and Lincoln Memorial cemetaries.
The 2008 baseball season has started so I hope you will go out and enjoy a few games and lend a hand to the
baseball committee. Please contact Dick Clarence if are willing to donate some time to help the baseball
season operate smoothly.
Though it is not official, it looks like I will have the pleasure to serve again next year as commander.
I hope to be a bit more ambitious with membership and involving our members in our programs.
